Like best: My laptop short-circuited due to awful engineering from my laptop's company. I panicked because I didn't know how to navigate all of the steps. Like best: While trying to download the latest WIN10 updates on my HP laptop, my hard drive crashed. I contacting HP and was told they no longer provided support, so I contacted Poor People's Computer Services. I was told by Steve to ship the product and he would diagnose the problem. When the laptop was shipped back, what I thought was useless device was amazingly transformed into a fully fictional machine I use on a daily basis.

Because of this, he refunded half of the fee that I paid for him to look at it. I would definitely use him again for future computer issues.

Like best: My son dropped my computer several months ago. I took it to a repair shop to have it assessed and learned that the repairs would be $300+. I could not afford the cost to repair at that time. So I waited a while to have it repaired. I found a repair shop near my home in Glen Burnie with signs boosting about low prices and quick friendly service. I took the lap top in to have it assessed and the owner of the shop advised that the charging port was cracked and would need to b replaced. He said it would take 3 days to fix. He said it would only cost me $100 to fix. I gave him a deposit and left my lap top with him on a Monday he said it should be fixed by Thursday. I returned to the shop on Thursday and the owner of the shop advised that the necessary parts had not arrived. He said he would call me as soon as the lap top was ready. I waited an additional week and returned after I had not heard from the owner and he advised he was still waiting on parts. He said things were delayed because of the pandemic and he apologized for the delay. I tried calling the shop after the 3rd week past and the number on the business advertisement was disconnected. I arrived at the shop to find the owner again saying to call his cell phone number. He advised it was a small business and to give him grace and he would call me when it was fixed. I began calling a week later and the owner did not pick up the phone when I called and he also did not have a answering machine to leave a message. After week 5 I returned to the shop and the owner apologized and said he did not realize this was my number even though it was written on my lap top. I asked that he return my lap top and my deposit immediately. He had torn the lap top apart and could not find pieces. He asked me leave it 1 more week so that he could order the casing for the hard drive that he has lost. He said it was a expensive piece and he wanted to make sure it was returned properly. Like a trusting fool I left the lap top one more week. I returned Thursday, June 25, 2020 and found the lap top in the same condition I had found it in the previous week. He told me his assistant had called me and I didn't answer and he was waiting on me. He said he could not figure what was wrong with the lap top. He asked for more time and I said I was not leaving the lap top and wanted him to return my lap top immediately. HE rushed to put it back together because I was informing his waiting customers of his poor service and unprofessionalism. He responded that he was a small business and didn't need to have voice mail or fix the number printed on the side of his building. I found poor people computer services through a google search and after a brief conversation realized I had nothing to loose. I gave him my HP Pro book Thursday evening on 6/25/2020. He was quick, professional and extremely transparent in servicing my lap top. I had a video of the issues he found wrong by Friday morning as well as a invoice by Friday evening. I received a new video Saturday morning of my repaired lap top. I am writing this review on my repaired lap top and would HIGHLY recommend Poor People Computer Services for all of your repair needs. I will sing their praises to everyone I know. The prices were fair and the service was impeccable. I am a customer for life.

Like best: We have a sign shop with 7 networked computers, and 11 years worth of archived graphics. What could possibly go wrong? When we have problems they are never little ones. Even when I can't describe the problem the owner or one of his representative always figures it out. I'm really glad I don't have to shop for IT guys anymore. I can't believe how many fakers I had to go through before finally making a safe landing.

Like best: Wow!! Just Wow!! I spent the weekend in a panic because the laptop I use mainly for schoolwork died a quick death (from a faulty download) just hours before a final exam. I got the Blue Screen of Death. In a panic, I thought the only option was the people in the "blue and yellow shirts" who could fix my laptop. The first appt was 3 weeks away. I scheduled it because I was desperate. After having time to calm down from crisis mode, I found PPCS in a online search. I reached out to Steve at 15:27 today. By 20:23 today, my computer was fixed... less than 3 hours!! (That time includes laptop drop off/pickup, driving time, and I ran a some errands before going home.) Not only was the service very professional, but it was quick and inexpensive. As an added bonus, Steve has a sense of humor and is relatable. Highly recommended!! I am a military retiree (Army! Hooah!) and I wholly support this Veteran Owned Business!!

Nearly all the repair techs out there will default to the most expensive procedure without even doing the necessary testing or research into the problem. Like best: I have had a few computer problems before and how I wish I knew about this one back then. If you have a computer problem, this is the place to go. Unlike the other computer repair shops I've tried before, Mr. Steve Young not only fixed the problem the same day I dropped the computer at his place, but also followed-up the next day on how the PC was working. When I mentioned about some issues with the audio after reconnecting the PC, he remotely connected with our PC and fixed the problem. I would also like to mention that Mr. Steve Young listened to what I was experiencing with the PC and he went from there without telling me I SHOULD do this or do that to get me to buy other features that are not necessary. The cost of repair too is very reasonable. I'd go to this place if ever I have problems again.

He suggested several alternative business grade desktop computers as a replacement. When we settled on a likely candidate, he procured the device, configured, delivered and installed it for a reasonable price. Like best: My computer system was ate up and tore up from the floor up for sure. I was ready to trash it, but decided to see if I could get it repaired. I submitted a service request online and Steve responded very quickly. When I took it to Steve it had the blue screen of death. Dropping it off was safe during this time of uncertainty with the COVID-19 pandemic. Social distancing was observed. Once I arrived to drop of my computer Steve provided a plastic bin for me to place my computer in. He was masked and gloved up. I'm very pleased with the service received. Steve was honest in his assessment. He let me know what to expect and what the worst case scenario might be. He presented me with options ahead of time, but also reassured me that he would do his best. His prices are fair and affordable. Steve is very responsive and transparent. He communicated with me during the entire experience. He gave reasonable time frames for completion of the repair. Long story short, Steve got me squared away very quickly. Like best: I've had my laptop for almost 2 1/2 yrs with zero problems until it just quit February 2021. The warranty expired four months prior and I dreaded looking for a reputable, fair repair person. I saw good reviews online for Poor People Computer Services, gave it a shot and glad I did. I found Steve to be a knowledgeable professional who enjoys what he does. I found his prices to be fair and the repair turn around time was more than reasonable. I was kept informed of the progress with video texts and explanation. This comment is coming from someone knowledgeable about PC repair, but would rather someone else repair my laptops. There were many repair places much closer to me, but I was willing to drive farther and I will not think twice for my future PC repair needs. Like best: I am a recent client of Poor People Computer Repair. I spilt coffee on my Lenovo laptop and luckily, while my laptop was still working, my keyboard was not. Steve worked on my computer and was excellent - he took COVID precautions by sanitizing my computer, he texted me regularly to keep me abreast of progress, etc. My Lenovo is an older model and therefore a keyboard replacement wasnt readily available. However, Steve worked his magic to find one ... and at a reasonable price! I originally picked Poor People Computer Repair because some reviews mentioned their honest service. Now that I have had the pleasure of meeting Steve and seeing the quality of his work, I can confirm the quality, reliability and honesty of their work and prices.
